The Trail Run

The morning trail run. Amazing. With a community of runners from all different backgrounds. Heart-warming. Something termed a “race”. Motivational.

Griffith Park in Los Angeles is a beautiful playground - a golf course, jungle gyms, a carousel, and lots of green space. It was inspiring to run with so many people from all over Los Angeles (and other places I suspect). At 7 am, as we approached the starting area, I wondered what we were doing at the base of a mountain, so early in the morning, about to run an 8K. After climbing 800 feet or so over 2 miles, we felt a sense of accomplishment and a huge sigh of relief :). 3 miles later and over the finish line, we could not have been happier that we just did that trail. And we said, “Let’s do another!!” And the “we” is my daughter Emily. So fun and encouraging to share the experience with her.

So find your partner and get out there!
