The rainy days bring out the best in the mountains
For a moment It was such a downer to have several days of rain until I remembered what follows the rain … the beauty of the landscape thriving and, this time of year, the snow capping the mountains.
Nature inspires — even during the dormant season!
It’s amazing to see the landscape as it changes during the seasons. It’s now almost the winter season and 11 months after the fires in the Pacific Palisades and following 2 weeks of some serious rain storms — they called it an atmospheric river!
THE RESILEnce of nature
Old is new! I’ve run this trail so many times but post the Palisades fires in January 2025, it’s a whole new experience….
Summer Time With Local Community - Running
Getting out there to do a community run is so much fun! People of all fitness levels. People come out for all reasons — make a PR, get some exercise or just get the family out there together. It’s easy to meet people and you leave with a big smile. Give your local runs a try!
The Trail Run
Griffith Park, Los Angeles, CA – The morning trail run. Amazing. With a community of runners from all different backgrounds. Heart-warming. Something termed a “race”. Motivational.
GoodBye 2024 - Bring in the New Year!
Good time to lace up and do one more group run this year — whether a 5K, 10K or half-marathon. And then, treat yourself to a new pair of running sneakers to start 2025 off on the right foot :-).
The Beauty of the Desert
Traveling to new places, such as the desert landscape outside of Scottsdale, gives you another perspective. The incredible beauty that emanates from something so dry and desolate is amazing, Hiking in such dry and different conditions makes you think twice about how you prepare for such adventures. Being prepared (e.g., extra water, sunscreen and a hat for example) permits you to enjoy the surroundings despite the environmental challenges.
Starting the New Year Off Right
Whatever the weather, just get out there. Even for 30 minutes. And don’t spend too much time thinking about it. Just better to get outside and see something new or something old — but take a look around and take a deep breath in. Look at the flowers and smell them too.
